NeoPixel is a very practical RGB LED that you can use with just one microcontroller pin, enabling you to use it multiple times by tying it all at once.
It has 24-bit color depth. Since the PWM operation is done by the controller in the LED, it does not consume much energy. Because they are driven at constant current, the brightness of your NeoPixel will not diminish even when the battery you use in your progeny is weak. Each pixel draws a maximum of 60mA current (white at full brightness). Using Arduino, you can drive NeoPixel at up to 500 fps at 500 fps. Arduino's processing power and memory are not enough to drive more NeoPixels.
