Servo savers are mechanical elements which are used to protect the gears of steering servo motors when an impact occurs on the wheel. The impact momentarily tries to turn the wheels against the servo control which causes the gears of the servo motor to strip because of the high load. The servo saver is used to protect the gears of the servo from this momentary load by letting the wheel turn to the impact direction free from servo control.
